Trimstone Exterior Stone Panel System Used in Wilde Lake Village Project
Morgan-Keller Uses Trimstone’s Ideal Cladding System
This trendy two-story marketplace in the Wilde Lake Village Center in Columbia, Maryland is part of a mixed-use project. Morgan-Keller Construction combined a unique blend of brick, glass and Trimstone Lightweight Exterior Stone Panel System on the building façade. The focal entry wall was designed in a 95-degree wedge shape as tall as the building itself, giving the impression the structure was constructed around a section of a natural massive rock formation. The Trimstone Lightweight Stone panels were cut to visually mimic the smaller brick pieces.
Extremely Versatile Exterior Stone Panel System
Moca Cream Limestone from Portugal was hand selected with veins to run with the horizontal nature of the building design.
This project – a unique twist to architecture for the area – let Stoneworks go to work on what they do best in their Miami factory. Each lightweight slab of Limestone, after fabrication was precision cut with state-of-the-art high-pressure waterjet cutting equipment to the sizes specified. After passing strict quality control, each piece was labeled for installers to quickly know where the piece was to be mounted on the included extrusion grid.
The lightweight and durable nature of Trimstone Lightweight Exterior Stone Systems made it the ideal cladding system for this project. The installers with one lift were able to make quick work of the installation and adjustments were made as they went along.
